Since their discovery 25 years ago, fungal viruses have created a new field of study in mycology and virology. The purpose of this book is not only to serve as a useful reference work but also to provide reviews of the important advances which have taken place since the last books on fungal viruses appeared. An introductory chapter gives a critical overview of fungal virology in the context of virology as a whole and of recent developments in molecular biology.
