This collection of poems divides into three section: Rocks, Roads, and Reflections. Rocks—mountains—sometimes they are literal ones like Chimney Rock or Jump Off Rock, or Brasstown Bald that, in the writer’s experience, provide jumping off points for speaking of various aspects of faith. Other times they are symbolic “rocks,” people who encourage us in our faith journeys. Roads—ones like Saluda Grade, the Dragon’s Tail, or the streets we’ve lived on—help describe paths we take, the life of faith a part of them all. The final section of the book comprises Reflections and describes something of the author’s journey of faith throughout decades of life and ministry. Within this section are numerous poems related to Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter that prove valuable for seasonal inspiration. The author hopes that the book encourages readers to ponder their own “rocks” in the faith as well as the roads they may have traveled. Additionally, she hopes her reflections invite the readers into ones of their own.

Wright's poetry deals with various grief experiences--loss of health status, as...
